dog boarding FAQs
-
Yes! Staff stays with the dogs overnight to ensure all pups are safe and happy. We do not believe cameras are enough.
-
Yes, we do require that all dogs who board with Park-9 complete a trial day and attend daycare at least 2x in the 30 days before their overnight stay. We believe a trial day is mutually beneficial for your pup and for the Park-9 team. This allows your dog to stay with us for a shorter time to get used to our environment and sniff out our pack. This time also enables our trained team to observe your pup’s behavior to make sure their temperament is a good fit with the overall pack. We can then also understand what group they would best fit with. Ensuring they join us on a semi-regular basis helps ensure their familiarity and comfort with the facility, staff, and dog pack so their stay is seamless.
-
We require at least 48 hours notice for cancelation. Given the extra prep and care we take to accommodate your dog’s stay, we appreciate the heads up notice!
-
Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. For expected busy times (i.e. holidays), advanced booking is highly recommended.
-
You may drop-off your dog as early as 7am (or 6:30am with an early drop-off fee charged) the day of their boarding stay. Daycare is included in the cost of your dog’s boarding stay.
You must drop-off your dog by 7pm the day of their boarding stay. This ensures time to settle before bedtime.
-
Boarding check-out time is set for 11:30am. You can pick up your dog as early as early as 6:30am. If you would like to pick up your dog after 11:30am, they will join the daycare pack for the day and you will just be charged for another day of daycare. Pick up is required by 7pm (or 7:30pm with a late pick-up charge applied). If you pick-up after this time, another night of boarding will be charged.
-
Yes, included in your dog’s stay is daily enrichment-based group daycare! Your dog will join our daycare pack during the day to socialize, participate in daily enrichment activities, and enjoy time with the Park-9 staff. Once the daycare day is over, pups will retreat to their rooms individually (or with their sibling) for downtime and individual attention with our boarding staff before bedtime!
-
Morning and nighttime feeding is included with your dog’s boarding stay. We provide daily treats to the pups (with parent permission) and will take into account any food allergies. Should your pup need to receive a lunch time meal during the day, we ensure they are fed at the right time and away from other pups so they feel safe. We just ask for a $5 day-time feeding administration fee.
You can provide your dog’s preferred food or we can feed them our house kibble for $5 per day.
-
Yes, we can help to provide medical care such as medication administration and wound dressing. We ask for a $7 administration fee and ensure our staff is fully trained on how to appropriately provide necessary care.

Yes, boarding at Park-9 is all-inclusive of enrichment activities. This includes daily activities within daycare as well as a nightly treat and tuck-in.
Additional activities including extra one-on-one time with staff, training, and/or spa treatments can also be added to your dog’s stay!
-
Given how many pups we have in our care, we ask that parents do not call just for an update. We provide daily report cards with details on your dogs day, photos, and any important updates for parents to know. We also send a nightly good night text so you know your pup is tucked in for the night safe and sound. If there is anything that requires your urgent attention, we will of course call you directly to communicate that. If there are any emergencies or information we need to know to take the best care of your dog, we then encourage you to contact us directly.
-
Yes, you can absolutely have a trusted person pick-up your pup. We just ask that you provide us with their information ahead of time so that we ensure your pup is going home with the right human!
-
We understand emergencies happen and will work with you to make sure you can pick up your dog at a time that works for you in these situations.
-
Should, for any reason, your dog need veterinary care, Park-9 staff would ensure prompt transport to care. We have a relationship with local veterinarians who are familiar with our services and ready to treat dogs who are in Park-9’s care. Should this happen, we would call pet parents directly - we ensure we have an emergency contact on file for all dogs - and work with you to ensure they get the proper care.
-
We handle all dogs with care and understand they may have specific needs. Our daycare pack is split into smaller groups based on size and temperament to ensure all pups are comfortable in the Park-9 environment. The trial day also helps us ensure your pup is an overall good fit with the Park-9 daycare and boarding experience. We have overnight kennel options for all sizes and luxury comfort beds to ensure they are comfortable!
-
All staff has worked in a group dog play environment prior to joining Park-9. They receive continuing in-person and virtual education to continue to sharpen our dog care knowledge.
All staff is Pet CPR and First Aid Certified. This includes specific training in identifying the symptoms of kennel cough. We also partner with a local emergency vet should outside care be required.
-
Keeping our facility clean is our top priority and we do not take this responsibility lightly. We do deep cleans several times daily and utilize a cleaning solution that is vet-approved for killing contagious viruses like kennel cough. We also have a state of the art HVAC system to enhance ventilation and air quality. All dog bowls and toys are sanitized daily via our high temperature dishwasher.
